Reflective film is an essential reflective material for the production of various reflective signs and transportation facilities such as traffic signs, license plates, indicator plates, and guide plates. This reflective material uses the optical principle to reflect the light back to the light source to achieve the purpose of reflection. It is usually composed of a film layer with good weather resistance, a tiny glass bead layer, a focusing layer, a reflective layer, an adhesive layer and a stripping layer. The development of road traffic in Shandong has led to the continuous expansion of the production scale of reflective films and materials in Shandong. The reflective film products on the Shandong market can be divided into four types based on their performance: diamond grade reflective film, high-strength reflective film, engineering grade reflective film, and economic grade reflective film. The scope of application of economic grade reflective film is currently relatively limited, and the following focuses on introducing the first three types of reflective film products.
1. Engineering grade reflective film. This is a durable sealed reflective film. Corresponding to the fourth level reflective film in the JT-T279-1995 standard issued by the Ministry of Transport. Since the early 1950s, this reflective material has been successfully used to make traffic signs. At present, it still has certain applications in areas with low traffic flow and low-speed motor vehicle driving.
2. High strength reflective film. High strength reflective film is a durable sealed reflective film. The performance belongs to the third level reflective film in the JT-T279-1995 standard issued by the Ministry of Transportation, and it is also a widely used reflective film material at present. Even when the sign is at a large angle and in bright areas, the high-strength reflective film makes the sign clearly visible, effectively warning the driver of dangerous situations on the road ahead.
3. Diamond grade reflective film. The performance of this reflective material belongs to the first and second level reflective films in the JT-T279-1995 standard issued by the Ministry of Transportation. Its reflective principle is different from the glass bead reflection principle used in engineering grade and high-strength reflective films, but uses a new technology of microcrystalline cube reflection. Compared with traditional engineering grade and high-strength grade reflective films, the diamond grade reflective film made of wear-resistant and high hardness polycarbonate material and microcrystalline cube technology not only increases its reflective performance exponentially, but also greatly improves its wide-angle performance. Its brightness is more than six times that of engineering grade reflective film and more than three times that of high-strength grade reflective film.
